Project Outputs

At the exhibition opening on April 12, 2015, the Fellows and Community Advisors gave a public presentation about the goals of the project and an overview of the work they did in the Community Design School.

We released Building the Community Design School at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in December 2015, and the Spanish edition in September 2016. This publication lends a comprehensive look at how an inclusive planning process can turn park-users into park-leaders.

Project Activities

The Community Design School met every other week for 3 months at the Queens Museum. After a series of informal lessons, they created proposals to improve the access, connectivity, and circulation of the park to better serve the public’s needs.
