Tavis Dockwiller is a Principal Landscape Architect with thirty years of experience in private practice. In 1999, she founded Viridian Landscape Studio and is the guiding influence for the firm. Ms. Dockwiller reveals a site’s unique character in fresh, creative ways. She is comfortable in both planning and design roles responding to challenges by developing not only clear over-arching goals, but also by employing her thorough understanding of design and construction. This results in beautiful, enduring, cost effective work.

She firmly believes that problem solving should be fun; client-consultant teams can make a difference to the world both socially and environmentally; and design solutions should be practical and lyrical.

Ms. Dockwiller’s work consistently wins both industry and government accolades and awards including:

  • 2016 Philadelphia Community Design Collaborative’s International Play Space Design Competition, Reviving Recess: Bright Futures Chutes and Ladders, Mill Creek, Philadelphia, PA
  • 2015 Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia Grand Jury Award, Sustainable Future of Washington Crossing Historic Park Master Plan, Washington Crossing, PA
  • 2014 Association of Zoos and Aquariums Exhibit of the Year, KidZooU, Philadelphia Zoo, Philadelphia PA

Ms. Dockwiller is a mayoral appointee to the Philadelphia Civic Design Review Board. She is a board member and volunteer for the Community Design Collaborative of Philadelphia. For both these endeavors, she donates her time and expertise to engender great Philadelphia communities through design.
