Nette Compton graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture and Plant Science as well as a Masters of Science from the Urban Horticulture Institute. She conducted her graduate research on the St. Simon Stock green roof in the Bronx, examining green roof design and plant selection that optimizes storm water management.
Nette has published articles on green roof design and serves on the Green Roofs for Healthy Cities Curriculum Committee. She is currently the Senior Project Manager for Design at the NYC Parks Department, where she is involved with several sustainability initiatives within the Parks Department and the Mayor's Office of Long-term Planning and Sustainability.
The Fellowship had a huge impact on my career. I went from being “Landscape Architecture Intern” at Parks to “Director of Green Infrastructure” by the close of the project.
