Casey Jones has dedicated his career to improving civic architecture and the public realm and currently serves as the global director for civic projects at Perkins+Will. He is the former Deputy Director of the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations at the U.S. Department of State, where he oversaw the design and construction of a new era of U.S. embassies. He previously served as the national Director of Design Excellence at GSA, where he ushered in a new generation of architects and oversaw the development of their designs. Earlier in his career, Casey was a founding principal in the design consultancy jones|kroloff and also served as the first Associate Director of Van Alen Institute, where he directed their program of competitions and urban studies.
What was critical about this project, that made it such a success, was bringing together a number of people from different sectors very early in the project...the Design Trust provides a great forum for in-depth studies.
