Mollie Serena is a New York City-based interdisciplinary artist working in photography, sculpture, film, and light art. Her art practice is informed by her academic pursuits as a graduate of Parsons School for Design with a BFA in Photography, Masters in Art, and Ph.D. in Philosophy and Communication from the PACT division of The European Graduate School. She began working with Design Trust for Public Space on the ‘Opening the Edge’ project a few years ago and has recently proposed the ‘Lighting the Edge’ temporary installation. As an active member of the Lower East Side Community Cultural Council, she works with FabNYC to strengthen the cultural vitality of the neighborhood. Prior to joining the Design Trust, she was director of visual development at Lone Mountain Media producing short and feature films.
