The Design Trust and Hell's Kitchen Neighborhood Association launched the Hell's Kitchen South: Developing Strategies book and exhibit with a symposium at the Storefront for Art and Architecture on Nov 18. Exhibit on view through Dec 23, 1999.
The Design Trust and HKNA held a public symposium to unveil the findings of their joint project, Hell's Kitchen South on November 18. The project team discussed the proposals developed by 13 multidisciplinary teams in response to the neighborhood's issues raised at by stakeholders at the Design Trust led community-planning forum in June 1999. Hell's Kitchen South Fellows encouraged each team to think at multiple scales and to create design solutions for both the long and short term. As a result, the project publication Hell's Kitchen South: Developing Strategies provides concrete, viable and creative recommendations for the neighborhood that could help inform their discussions with the city and private developers.
