Staten Island Pier 1
Join us for the last Public Space Potluck of the summer, at Staten Island Pier 1!
Gather with like-minded urbanists as we eat and explore Staten Island's Pier 1!
Long considered the ‘forgotten borough,’ Staten Island has been thrust into the spotlight with a series of high-profile new projects. While the New York Wheel and Empire Outlets get most of the buzz, the Staten Island waterfront has also been slowly transforming into a network of green public spaces.
Join us for a communal meal on Pier 1 in front of the National Lighthouse Museum. The recently renovated pier, which is located a short walk from the free-and-frequent Staten Island Ferry, offers great views of New York harbor and the city skyline. Monica Valenzuela of Staten Island Arts will join us to offer an inside-look at all the changes coming to the waterfront.
As always, we'll provide the cups, plates, and napkins for our shared meal. All attendees are asked to please bring a food dish to share. The event is free and open to all.
