Join Design Trust for Public Space and the NYC Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) to celebrate the launch of the El-Space Toolkit. The 11 case studies across North America featured in the Toolkit demonstrate approaches to various typologies of el-space from linear pathways to crossings to commercial corridors or market spaces, highlighting the range of potential of el-space from enhanced infrastructure to destination parks to trails. The toolkit also covers the lifecycle of developing and implementing el-space projects, highlighting lessons learned for this emerging field from pilot sites in New York city, with exemplary practices and considerations on how to improve el-space conditions. In this program, leading practitioners and city representatives from Boston, New York, and Toronto will discuss how to reimagine el-spaces citywide and internationally using this first-of-its-kind comprehensive guide through a panel conversation about innovative strategies for advancing design, planning, and programming for el-space sites.
