In case you missed our information session on a new Request for Qualifications call for the Reimagining the Enslaved African Burial Ground Design Ideas Competition, watch the recording here to learn more about the project and how to apply!

Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, in partnership with the Design Trust for Public Space and Liminal sp, is launching a “design ideas competition,” seeking architects, landscape architects, artists, or other qualified firms and individuals to submit qualifications to reimagine the Enslaved African Burial Ground in Van Cortlandt Park. Three winners will be selected who will design potential visions for the site that center healing, memory, imagination. These ideas will catapult the project into its next phases, creating momentum for a new memorial that can serve its community for generations to come.

The REIMAGINING team held a informational webinar on 12/1 to review the process for submitting to the Design Ides Competition RFQ by 12/17 and to answer questions for interested applicants. Watch the recording above to learn more. Download the application guide and find the RFQ submission link here.

Please email any additional application questions to reimagining@vancortlandt.org by 12/8. We will post a copy of FAQs here by 12/10.
