The Turnout NYC stage is back in Harlem! The 2nd Annual Learn to Love Yourself: Silent Disco & Portrait Series returns for three Saturdays August 19th, August 26th, and September 2nd

Back by popular demand and named as one of New York’s Best Things To Do! by Timeout New York, National Black Theatre (NBT) announces the 2nd annual Learn to Love Yourself: Silent Disco & Portrait Series. This event series celebrates female-identifying DJs and photographers who are creating a sonic, transformative journey for our community to learn, love, and heal themselves.

Join NBT on three consecutive Saturdays from August 19th through September 2nd 3-6pm for this free and community-oriented initiative that expands the access to art across New York City and provides infrastructural support for NYC-based arts and culture organizations. Included are free portraits by notable photographers, Ayesha Kazim, Floradis Espinal, and Maria J Hackett, and musical stylings of Cry$cross, Dent, Duneska, Poison Ivy, and Rimarkable.

This event will take place in partnership with Uptown Grand Central (UGC) , Design Trust and SITU. Headphones will be provided for the outdoor dance party in tandem with a portrait photography series that will take place at the Metro North Harlem–125th Street station at 125th Street & Park Avenue underpass.

Visit www.turnoutnyc.org to learn more about how our project collaboration with SITU and NYC cultural community partners brought outdoor performance spaces across the five boroughs, creating equitable arts access with the power of underutilized public space!
