Join Design Trust for Public Space, Municipal Art Society, and Open House New York for a Public Space Potluck at Socrates Sculpture Park.
You’re invited to a Public Space Potluck at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, Queens, hosted by Design Trust for Public Space, Municipal Art Society, and Open House New York.
Once an abandoned riverside landfill and illegal dumpsite until the mid-80s, Socrates Sculpture Park has been transformed into a renowned site for public art and designated New York City public park.
Join us to tour the park’s art-filled five acres, engage in conversations about public space, and learn more about the three partner organizations dedicated to celebrating the built environment. Speakers will include Katie Dixon, Executive Director of Socrates Sculpture Park, and Amy Hau, Director of The Noguchi Museum. Participants are encouraged to bring a dish to share and contribute to the community spirit of the event. Please also bring a blanket or something to sit on as we will be on grass.
