A well-rounded team of Fellows is essential to ensure that a project’s substantive content (i.e. urban planning) and formal product (i.e. book) can be produced successfully. In addition to complementary expertise, a blend of emerging and established professionals contributes to more effective project outcomes. The assembled team may experience “creative tension” but this should be expected and exploited to the benefit of project goals. All Fellows should understand that they are “instigators”—it is their role to make believers out of the rest of their team and skeptical stakeholders.
