Visit us at at the MAS Summit for New York City’s annual Innovation Exhibition to see our community design team's ideas for an active gathering space at Lillian Wald Houses on the Lower East Side, as part of Opening the Edge — a project of Design Trust for Public Space in partnership with New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and led by Jane Greengold.

The MAS Summit for New York City returns on Tuesday, October 9, at St Bartholomew's Church. In celebration of MAS’s 125th anniversary, this year’s program, Shaping the City, will explore present-day concerns about the issues central to the organization’s long history of advocacy and the central role that the individual plays in shaping the built environment.

Along with the program, participants will enjoy the Summit’s annual Innovation Exhibition, showcasing independent projects that empower civic engagement at all levels.

With the Opening the Edge project, we engage NYCHA residents and their neighbors in redesigning a now fenced, unusable grass space at the edge of Wald Houses in Lower East Side, to make it a lively public space, usable by both residents and neighbors.
