Taxi 07

The Taxi 07 Exhibit publication is a comprehensive overview of the Design Trust's groundbreaking Taxi 07 Exhibit at the New York International Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Center, April 6-15, 2007.

The exhibit displayed eight taxi vehicle prototypes, two historic taxis, and many options for future vehicle and system-wide improvements. With information on everything from sustainability and fuel efficiency to ease of use and accessibility to system stats and taxi history, the exhibit was the most comprehensive display of information on New York City's taxis ever mounted.
The Taxi 07 Exhibit catalyzed a sea change in the New York City taxi system. With Mayor Michael Bloomberg's announcement in May 2007 that all taxis must get 30 miles to the gallon by 2012, and the Taxi & Limousine Commission's "Taxi of Tomorrow" project working to design a New York City-specific taxi, the results of the Design Trust's Taxi 07 project will soon be seen on our streets.

Illustrated with color photographs by Andy Cross, Jason DeCesare, Michael DiVito and Chris Kannen, the Taxi 07 exhibit catalogue tells the story about our Taxi 07 project with particular focus on the physical content of the exhibit. Short excerpts of the informational content about taxi drivers, passengers, sustainability and technology are also included.
