The
Design Trust's June 2001
forum on the High Line was major step toward
understanding and productively channeling the
concerns of interested parties and laying out
the issues and positions surrounding state and
local government support. This booklet summarizes
the conclusions of the forum, assess the development
issues then facing the High Line, and outlines
next steps.

As a result of this forum, the Design Trust and the Friends of the High Line partnered on Reclaiming
the High Line, a research project
to understand the challenges of the site and
develop a design vision for the railway's reclamation.
