Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) is an independent library system for the 2.5 million residents of Brooklyn. Evenly distributed across the diverse borough, BPL’s 60 locations serve as integral community gathering spaces for a wide variety of purposes. Since 1896, BPL, in accordance with its mission, has provided the people of Brooklyn with free and open access to information for education, recreation and reference.
