José Serrano-McClain is an organizer, educator, and artist who began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as an economic analyst. From 2005 to 2010 his art practice revolved around the ‘economics of the creative spirit,’ during which time he founded TrustArt.org, a community for supporting social and artistic innovation, and the media project FameGame.com

In his role as the community organizer for the Queens Museum, José forges community partnerships that bring together artists, urban planners, civic leaders, elected officials, city agencies and researchers in various fields to creatively address a range of complex urban issues, among them immigrant civic integration, sustainable economic development, and community participation in public space design. He has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from Queens College.
