Carlos Mandeville joined Design Trust in June 2016 after a year at a New York-based media consulting start-up. He studied Geography at Vassar College to engage his interest in using multidisciplinary methods to analyze the challenges to equitable access in urban space. His work for Environment Defense Fund (EDF) in which he researched how cities were discussing environmental justice and inclusive models for clean energy generation reflects this inquisitive approach. In addition to getting published in Forbes Energy for an article he co-wrote at EDF in 2016, he received distinction on his thesis, which analyzed how current trends of development in Downtown Phoenix reflect and reproduce historical spatial territoriality.
