On Saturday, December 17, 2011, the Design Trust convened over 60 key Garment District stakeholders and leading urban thinkers for a Making Midtown workshop to develop a vision for a vibrant, 21st Century Garment District. Participants generated ideas and strategies to strengthen the fashion R&D hub in the Garment District—ensuring that NYC remains a global fashion leader—while catalyzing public and private investment in the neighborhood's buildings and public realm.
Building on this input, the Design Trust team will develop realistic recommendations to guide future planning and development in the District. These recommendations are scheduled to be released as a short publication in early Spring 2012.
