On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, the Design Trust for Public Space and the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation hosted an Earth Day symposium, "Park Design for the 21st Century."
Presentations
by prominent professionals illuminated cutting-edge strategies for high performance landscapes. The new techniques and innovative designs discussed will inform our upcoming publication,
High Performance Landscape Guidelines, to be published in partnership with NYC Department of Parks & Recreation.
The symposium took place at the Center for Architecture from 12:30 to 5:00 pm and was free and open to the public. Welcome remarks by Design Trust Executive Director Deborah Marton and NYC Parks Department's Chief of Design Charles McKinney were followed by two panel presentations with open discussion.
