At this facilitated working meeting,
which took place at Parsons on May 24,
2005, a panel of invited taxi steholders
discussed trends in taxi design and the role of
the taxi as a New York public space.
Participants were asked to define the
ideal taxi and taxi system of the future,
from the perspective of a taxi passenger.
|
Questions
presented for discussion included:
What do you use taxis for?
How could
the vehicle be more functionally useful?
Who uses cabs – who doesn't?
How could the vehicle be more accessible?
How could the ride be more comfortable
and pleasant?
What
features of the sidewalk could be altered
to improve taxi usage?
How could the
roadway be altered to improve taxi usage?
Are there other public spaces or facilities
that would improve taxi usage?
What tools,
technologies, or public information would
ease taxi usage?
