Interested in submitting a project proposal to create a more equitable NYC? Join our info session about the Design Trust's 2017 Call for Project Ideas–Public for All–on May 9, at 5:30 pm, at the New Lots Library in East New York, Brooklyn.

Public space is created for and belongs to all of us. In today’s political climate, we must affirm and ensure that New York City’s public realm provides places of refuge and play, congregation and demonstration, and dialogue and exchange. Keeping these spaces thoroughly public poses challenges and opportunities at every turn—be that site selection, funding, design, governance, or operations.

Design trust for Public space has launched Public for All: Rethinking Shared Space in NYC, an open call for project ideas to further our collective stake and sense of belonging in the public realm. We invite individuals, NYC community groups, and City agencies across the five boroughs to submit proposals for research, design, and planning projects to unlock the potential of NYC’s shared spaces, including underutilized and underresourced community assets.

At this info session, Design Trust staff will review the process and requirements for submitting a project proposal and answer questions. Come talk to us in person to learn more about who we are, what we do, and how we work.

RSVP: jsayers@designtrust.org

Can't make this info session? There is one more coming up on May 10, 2017, at the Kingsbridge Branch Library in the Bronx.
